PRA Militiamen for Spectre Miniatures

Asymmetrical engagements are where it is at, and I am pretty sure you can't have enough militia. Hordes of gun-toting, dope-smoking bad guys tearing through the town on gunned up Toyota technicals!
  Does it get any better?
Here are some more militiamen for my PRA forces. I have used the figures from Spectre Miniatures that I got when I backed their Kickstarter last year. They are nice figures, with some good detailing. Scale-wise they fit better with the Empress miniatures that with The Assault Group.

  1. Nicely painted. I especially like the denim jacket & striped top. Yeah, you can never have too many militia/insurgent figures!

    1. I love painting them, but they don't see enough action.

  3. Great stuff, very nicely painted. For me, much better and more appealing sculpts than the TAG stuff. :)

    1. Its personal taste. I like painting the TAG figures, I find them very relaxing, and their faces are very characterful too. their weapons are a bit chunky, but that is just a style issue. they are certainly not bad sculpts. The fashion now seems to be for slimmer, more realistically proportioned figures, and the TAG miniature date from a period when sculpting styles were different.
Technology is an issue too. Spectre still sculpt the old fashioned way but the weapons are made using CAD and a 3D printer, but this creates its own problems. Spectre have recently had to change caster to one who uses a vary hard white metal as they have had a lot of problems with the delicate weapons breaking and bending. They had also had to bulk out the weapons to avoid this problem. It is all very well saying 'lets have realistic scale weapons' but if the customers complain they keep breaking then you will have a lot of unhappy customers.
One thing that can be said for TAG, you are not going to have broken weapons.

  4. I've got those two boss miniatures lying around, so I'll definitely have to get them painted up! Nice work on these. Spectre do some great miniatures.
